Between 1997 and 2001, Damià Calvet was chief of staff of the Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Works, and between 2001 and 2003 General Director of Architecture and Housing. In 2010 he was Secretary of Territory and Mobility, going on in 2012 to direct the public body Incasòl and to preside over the Catalan public company Cimalsa, in charge of the promotion and management of infrastructure for transport and Logistics. At the end of May 2018, he was appointed by the President of the Generalitat Joaquim Torra as Minister.
