As chief information officer at the Port of Los Angeles, Lance Kaneshiro leads the Port’s Information Technology (IT) division, which is responsible for the Port’s computing, networking/telecom and cyber security services. The division’s goals include improving operations through the leveraging of information technologies and enabling the Port’s digitization strategies.
Kaneshiro’s professional affiliations include ChainPORT, where he serves as the co-chair for the Cyber Resilience working group and actively participates in the CIO/digitalization working groups. He is also a former Chair for the IT Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities.
Kaneshiro earned a master of business administration degree from the Anderson School at UCLA and a master of science and bachelor of science degrees from the University of Southern California. He is a licensed professional engineer (PE) in California, a certified project management professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and a certified information systems security professional (CISSP) from (ISC)2.
